Drag Story Hour: A Celebration of Reading, Imagination & Inclusion
This special event promotes literacy, creativity, and kindness by bringing stories to life in an engaging and welcoming way for children and their families. Come enjoy some fun tales, colourful costumes, and plenty of smiles!
This welcoming and interactive session is designed to foster conversation, understanding, and connection among local youth. Participants will explore topics surrounding inclusivity, identity, allyship, and creating supportive spaces within the community through group activities and open discussion.
Open to youth of all backgrounds and identities. Everyone is welcome.
Inclusivity Workshops will run June 1, 3, and 5 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the GRYN Youth Centre.
Join us on June 1, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in Downtown Golden for the Opening Ceremony of the Golden Pride Festival and the official unveiling of Golden’s new Pride Rainbow Bench.
Meet at the pocket park beside Signature Clothing.
The ceremony will celebrate the completion of this important community project as part of the Connected Communities initiative. The event will include speeches from town council and the President of the Golden Pride Society, followed by the official bench unveiling.
Every summer, the world comes to play in Golden, and so does the community at Summer Kicks.
Presented by Kicking Horse Culture, Summer Kicks is a FREE outdoor concert series featuring touring artists from across Canada alongside amazing local performers. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy live music, dancing, and community under the mountain sky.
