The 1st Gurdwara in North America has now been traced by historians to be on a piece of land in the current town of Golden, B.C. 

In the traditions that saw people travel to different Gurdwaras for different commemorations, we welcome all to be part of the “travelling sangat” to be a part of history, once again. 

On May 20th, 2018 the town of Golden, and the Sikh Temple of Golden will be hosting the very first Nagar Kirtan to commemorate our shared history of where Sikhs came to this land and practiced their faith in a new but old land and celebrate the strong legacy of today.
