Day 1 | Get ready for a real mountain experience

You'll find a wide variety of accommodations for your stay in Golden, including ski-in condos, luxury vacation homes, hotels, bed and breakfasts, and cabins and chalets for a truly authentic mountain experience. After checking in you could be getting cozy by a beautiful fire or relaxing in the hot tub and soaking the night away. If you can pull yourself away from the relaxation, head out to one of the many restaurants or pubs for a great meal.

Check into your accommodation, maybe fire up the hot tub and soak away the journey. Then head out to one of the many restaurants or pubs for a great meal.

Day 2 | Champagne powder at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort

There's endless fun on the powder or the groomers at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort for skiers and boarders alike. Work up an appetite for lunch and enjoy the stunning views (and food!) at Eagles Eye Restaurant, Canada’s most elevated dining experience. Finish the afternoon on the slopes before partaking in the après ski scene to enjoy locally brewed beer or hand-crafted cocktails. Finish the night off with a walk along the Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge, the longest free-standing timber frame bridge in Canada.

Day 3 | Get the Big Mountain Experience

Experience Kicking Horse Mountain Resort from a locals perspective! The guides at the Big Mountain Centre will show you how to maximize the terrain and find those secret powder stashes you might have missed. Be sure to check out the other activities at the resort including skating and tubing!

Day 4 | Count them - 5 world class resorts on your doorstep!

Mix it up with a day at another resort along the Powder Highway. Revelstoke, Panorama, Lake Louise and Sunshine are all less than 2 hour’s drive away. Or you may just be tempted back to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort by those stashes of powder and uncrowded groomers!

Day 5 | Get to know a different horse (power)

Take a half or full day guided snowmobile tour with one of the local snowmobile tour companies. Feel the thrill as you ride through the backcountry to untouched terrain and warm up by a roaring fire at one of the cabins. Later on, check out the events calendar and check out a Golden Rockets KIJHL hockey game or some live music at a local pub.

Day 6 | Nordic skiing and snowshoeing at Dawn Mountain

Check out the cross-country ski trails and snowshoeing trails at Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre, located minutes from Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. With lessons and equipment rentals available and a cozy lodge to warm up in afterwards, this is a perfect way to spend the day.

Day 7 | Check heli-skiing off your bucket list

The Canadian Rockies were the birthplace of heli-skiing in Canada, and heli-skiing still makes its home in Golden. It's easy to put that check on the bucket list as you finish with an iconic experience in the high alpine on a guided heli-skiing tour. Endless powder, surrounded by the untamed mountains, will put a smile on your face for a long, long time. Book early so you don’t miss out!
