Save the date: February 14–21, 2026 | Grand Finale: February 21

Every February, Golden comes together to celebrate creativity, community, and the magic of light returning to the valley. Now in its 20th year, EmberFest, once the Snow King’s Masque Parade, has grown into a week-long celebration of art, imagination, and shared possibility.

This year’s theme, Positive Futurisms: Portals of Possibility, invites us to imagine hopeful futures shaped by creativity and connection. Throughout the week, workshops, performances, and community art-making will spark curiosity across Golden, culminating in a spectacular outdoor pageant in Spirit Square featuring puppets, skits, music, and stories created by hundreds of community members.

EmberFest Presents - Story Night at Four Points Books

Step into an evening of cozy ambiance, warm drinks, and shared imagination as our community gathers for a Positive Futurisms–themed Open Mic Storytelling Night. Hosted at Four Points Books, folks of all ages are invited to share stories and poetry —real, imagined, future-dreamed, or yet-to-be-invented.

Whether you’re a practiced storyteller, a first-time sharer, or simply someone who loves to listen, this night celebrates creativity, connection, and the everyday magic of gathering together. It’s a small, intimate way to help spark the larger EmberFest spirit: creativity, shared meaning, and low-tech community magic.

Our theme is Positive Futurisms: Portals of Possibility

Participants can sign up to share:

  • A personal story
  • A fictional tale or myth
  • A poem, spoken word piece, or micro-story
