KHC presents: La Mitchin di Mitchif

On Sunday, June 22nd, KHC and MNCRS are hosting a FREE contemporary Indigenous dance performance at the civic centre. Everyone is welcome! The performance starts at 7:30- It is a 60-minute show with a short Q & A at the end. 

Inspired by Métis artist Christi Belcourt’s painting Medicines to Help Us, La Mitchin di Mitchif is a heartfelt tribute to the intergenerational teachings passed down in Métis culture and the Indigenous relations to Mother Earth.

V’ni Dansi presents La Mitchin di Mitchif, an evening of Indigenous contemporary dance. Inspired by cultural ancestral knowledge of Mitchif plant medicines, this international collaboration between Vancouver's V’ni Dansi and Santa Fe's Dancing Earth celebrates people's connection to earth and highlights the importance of plant medicine in Indigenous cultures. In this collaboration, dance artists and audiences will reignite their connection to the land and the healing that comes from Mother Earth and all that she provides.
