Jamie McDonald - Fundraising Adventurer - Arrives in Golden
Listen to an interview with Jamie McDonald at EZ Rock Golden BC
Golden welcomes Jamie McDonald as he runs across Canada coast to coast.
Jamie has run the equivalent of 186 continuous marathons unaided and raised over $100,000 for Canadian kids hospitals.
On March 9th 2013, Jamie began his attempt to run Canada coast to coast, more than 5,000 miles unassisted, jointly raising money in aid of UK charities Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity and the Pied Piper Appeal and children’s hospitals throughout Canada. He’ll become the first person in history to run it alone if he completes it, facing snow storms, -40°C temperatures and grizzly bears, all whilst pushing his belongings in a baby stroller nicknamed Caesar.
Jamie will be speaking at the Lady Grey Elementary school and the College of the Rockies in Golden BC to share his experiences and spread his motivational message that you can achieve anything in life that you set your mind to.
The community Golden is welcoming and helping him achieve his goal with kind donations and Tourism Golden would like to thank local businesses below donated services and time to ensure Jamie got the rest and treatment he needed to continue his important journey, as well as individuals who opened their homes to him as he heads west from Golden.
