With the fourth-largest vertical in North America, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort a world-class destination
There’s a moment that catches first-timers at Kicking Horse off-guard every time.
No, it’s not the moment when they step off the gondola and are presented with a panoramic view of one of the most stunning mountain ranges in the world.

“A lot of Calgarians don’t realize that Kicking Horse has the fourth-largest vertical in North America,” said Matt Mosteller, the senior vice-president of marketing and resort experience at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, which owns Kicking Horse. “There’s over 4,133 feet and it’s got more chute skiing than any place in North America with four major bowls.
“It’s the only place where you can do that big a vertical off one lift.”
