Events Hosting Coop Program

Tourism Golden’s Event Hosting Co-op Funding Program helps attract, retain, and grow sporting and cultural events that increase visitation, tourism revenues, and awareness of Golden as a place to host great events.

The program provides matching funding of up to 50% toward eligible event hosting expenses incurred within the Tourism Golden DMO area (Town of Golden and CSRD Area A, excluding Yoho National Park). Funding supports events that align with Tourism Golden’s marketing goals and brand essence of Authentic Adventure, and that are promoted to Tourism Golden’s target markets.

Key Details 

  • Funding range: requests must be at least $500, up to a maximum of $10,000 per event (larger amounts may be considered for multi-year commitments).
  • How it works: there is no submission deadline - applications are reviewed first-come, first-served until annual funding is fully allocated.
  • Timing: events should generally take place no less than 60 days and no more than 11 months after applying (multi-year applications may be considered).
  • Requirements: approved applicants sign a contribution agreement, use Tourism Golden branding as required, and submit post-event reporting and receipts before payment is issued.
  • Note: the program supports local hosting/operational costs and does not fund marketing/media buys. Additional support for media hosting may be considered by Tourism Golden upon request.
