A Patio For Every Occasion

Posted by Megan Crandall on

I don’t know about you, but when that sun is shining I know there’s only one place I’d like to be, at a patio somewhere. So I’m going to share all the patios from around town for all hours of the day, but hopefully I beat you there!

Morning Eats

If you haven’t checked out Big Bend yet, I’m telling you to go right now. What’s better than enjoying delicious breakfast on a patio on a beautiful day! Plus their hash browns are AMAZING.

Looking for something quick? Head over to Jita’s and choose from their breakfast and coffee menu. Enjoy a quick minute outside in the sun on their picnic tables before you have to continue one with your busy day.

Morning meetings can be made better with some sunshine. Check out Beanbag for a coffee beverage of your choice and sit out along the sidewalk. It’ll make your morning feel a lot better!

Lunch Time

Bluebird Cafe has tons of lunch and treats to offer, and I know I can’t survive a hot afternoon without one of their ice chai’s! Don’t be surprised if the outside is packed and the inside is empty.

Lunch time is just a busy time period, especially when you’re right downtown. Bacchus has a patio on the back of the building which is right beside the Kicking Horse River. Be sure to check out their newest addition for the summer, homemade popsicles!

Whether you’re looking for a bite to eat or an afternoon pick me up, the French Connection can offer you both. Take a break and indulge in cheese and fine foods while you watch the rest of the town bustle around while you’re enjoying the moment.

Dinner

Considering this restaurant is called the Island, it’s no big surprise that they can be found close to the river. Their large patio opens up right to the river, perfect for a peaceful dinner. If you get the chance, you better check out their brunch too! Cause there’s nothing better than eggs benny and mimosas, am I right?

If you have dinner at home and you’re still looking for some yummy dessert, head over to the Turning Point for their homemade cheesecake.  Pair that with a cold beverage and some sunshine and it makes for a great night.

On top of great burgers and their amazing homemade lemonade, the Wolf’s Den patio is super aesthetically pleasing. There are twinkly lights that hang above, as well as tables with little mini fires in the middle. How cool is that!

The White Tooth Bistro is one of the other summer exclusive patios. They build their patio every summer right onto the street! It has a great location, so all you need is equally great food and some sunshine and you’ll be set!

This patio is a little more hidden, if you don’t know it’s there you may miss it completely! You won’t want to miss the Rockwater though, it looks out onto the river and you’ll have a great view of the mountains if you get a good spot.

Drinks + Good times

Taking a drive through downtown Golden, you won’t be able to miss this patio. Every summer, The Taps brings out their front patio that sits along the street in front of the pub. Seriously, ya can’t miss it! This is a favourite spot for after work bevvies, so better get there quick for a good spot!

All somebody has to say is River House and I immediately think… TACO TUESDAY.  It works perfectly for me, because I work right near there. Since their patio views out on the Spirit Square, you can get a great view while enjoying the sunshine.

Tuesday isn’t the only special day of the week. Wing Wednesday is just as special, and it is spent at Omega. You’ll find lots of locals there every week stocking up on wings, beer and sunshine.

Morning, afternoon or night Golden has a patio for you.
