Kootenay and Columbia Valley (Highway 93 and 95)

If you planning to come to Golden via Highway 93 or 95 then you are going to have so many roadside attractions to choose from:

Kootenay National Park (Via Highway 93)

Marble Canyon trail

Admire the shapes and sounds of carved chasms as you hike along the trail. Relax in the Red Chairs at the end.  (1.6 km return, 20 m elevation gain)

Paint Pots trail

An easy walk takes you to three iron-rich mineral springs that stain the surrounding earth a vibrant ochre colour.

Kootenay Valley Viewpoint

The West - Revelstoke to Golden (Highway 1)

If you are starting your Golden road trip from the West (Trans-Canada Highway 1) then make sure you allow enough time to take in some of these iconic points of interest:

Mount Revelstoke National Park 

Giant Cedars Boardwalk 

An easy interpretive boardwalk through old-growth cedar-hemlock forest.
