Jane Jacobs (1916-2006) was a writer, urbanist and activist who championed the voices of everyday people in neighbourhood planning and city-building. Every year around the time of her birthday (May 4) community members from across the globe lead walks through their cities telling stories of the city and people that like there. "Jane’s Walk is a community-based approach to city building that uses citizen-led walking tours to make space for people to observe, reflect, share, question and re-imagine the places in which they live, work and play."
Join the Town of Golden and the Golden and District Community Foundation for a historic walking tour around downtown Golden. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water and dress for the weather.
