Lakes around Golden and Kicking Horse Country

Enjoy some of the Lakes around Golden, BC.

Spend a warm summers day at one of our beautiful lakes, bring the family and have a picnic whilst enjoying the unbelievable scenery.  Popular lakes include:

Cedar Lake, a small wilderness lake where you can enjoy swimming, fishing and canoeing.  This is also a popular location for hiking and mountain biking.  Has a nice beach area.  Access via a gravel forestry road on the way to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.

Reflection Lake, gets its name from the incredible reflections on the lake.  An excellent viewing point to experience a diversity of waterfowl.  There are seats and wildlife information boards.  There is a large picnic area and you can often see paragliders and hang gliders from this location.  Easy access off Highway 95 at the southeast end of Golden.

Kinbasket Lake, is a reservoir on the Columbia River and spans 260 km. The water levels can drastically vary depending on the month.  Great fishing and several boat launch spots.  Accessed by forestry roads off the Trans-Canada Highway 1, west of Golden.

Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park is a great spot for canoeing and is one of the best ways to enjoy a sunny day in the Canadian Rockies.  Easy Access off the Trans-Canada Highway 1, east of Golden.

Mitten Lake, is a popular lake with locals and features a large dock, small beach and boat launch area.  Access west of Parson on a forestry road.
