The Columbia River is a designated BC Heritage River that begins south of Golden at Columbia Lake and travels great lengths to its end at the Pacific Ocean. The Columbia River Wetlands were declared a wildlife management area in 1996 and in 2005 were designated am International Ramsar Site due to its global ecological significance.
Guided interpretive river and wetland tours are a great way to see wildlife and travel along one of the last natural pathways left for migratory birds.
