Garton and his party-hearty Squadron mates are a high-energy roots act like no other.
His music has been called “a dance party for the vulnerable at heart,” and East Vancouver-raised Jack Garton is undeniably a funky troubadour of the downtrodden – especially those who struggle with life’s absurd challenges but are always ready to dance. Garton (Maria in the Shower) is an accordion virtuoso fluent in Cajun, Eastern European, and country styles. But things get even wilder when he’s playing with his Demon Squadron band, who add elements of rockabilly, Latin funk and rocksteady to the mix. In short, Garton and his party-hearty Squadron mates are a high-energy roots act like no other. And after a decade of touring throughout North America and Europe, Garton has refined his songwriting, raconteuring, and performance skills to a bohemian brilliance. Heck, if squeezebox god Geoff Berner is a fan, you’re obviously doing everything right!
