In partnership with Calgary Cycle the Alberta Bicycle Association, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort will be hosting the first Alberta Cup Downhill race of the season on Sunday July 13th in the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Bike Park.

“We are looking forward to hosting a fun and fast paced race in the Bike Park,” states Bike Park Manager Mike Rubenstein. “The KHMR Bike Park has seen some major changes over the past year and we are going combine a series of newer trails to make a course that will be entertaining and suitable for any lever of rider,” continues Rubenstein.

The downhill race is an Alberta Cup series race for all licensed Alberta based racers.  However, riders from any province will be able to take part in the race, with the purchase of a day license.  Training will take place Saturday July 12th and Sunday July 13th (morning only) with the main downhill event set to get underway at 1:00pm on Sunday July 13th.  Awards are scheduled to take place at 4:00pm.

The Bike Park trail crew has laid out a spectator friendly course with easy foot access VIA the Catamount Chair.  The finish line, podium and small expo area will be located in the plaza at KHMR.
